In 1975, the Uruguayan dictatorship violently dismantled the Communist Youth Union in Treinta y Tres, a small Uruguayan city. Among the 25 detained minors were 15-year-olds like Liliana and Walter, who were subjected to brutal torture. Their youth was cut short, their innocence stolen; they lost the dances, the young romances, and the casual gatherings by the river to drink mate.
